Disability + Racial Justice Solidarity

July 29, 2026

In remembrance of recently deceased MacArthur Fellow and disability advocate Alice Wong (2024), a series of conversations with disability thought leaders gets to the heart of the hardest questions in racial justice, aesthetics, artificial intelligence, and neo-eugenics. The first event of this series, a discussion moderated by MacArthur Fellow Josh Miele (2021) with panelists Sami Schalk, Mel Chen, and Subini Ancy Annamma on Disability + Racial Justice Solidarity, explores the guiding question of: “While we celebrate Disability Pride Month and the ADA anniversary, how and why does our mainstream movement still fail to center BIPOC communities?”
