Finding Synergies: Connecting People and Places to Advance the Circular BioEconomy

August 21, 2026 - August 22, 2026

A two-day event in connection with WEAVE Community/The Soil Factory about the opportunities and constraints in shifting to a circular bionutrient economy that brings together farmers, artists, scientists, community members, processors, researchers, and public agencies from New York, California, and Kenya to explore how circular approaches to organic residuals—including human excreta, livestock manure, food waste, and other biomass—can support more sustainable and equitable agrifood systems. Featuring a public panel discussion with MacArthur Fellows Rebecca Nelson (1998) and William Tarpeh (2025), among others, the event aims to offer cross-learning for industries that produce or use organic materials and to explore approaches across contexts.
