Fund for a Safer Future

Global Impact, founded in 1981 and based in Alexandria, VA, works on charitable ventures to inspire greater giving. The Fund for a Safer Future (FSF), a project of Global Impact, is a funder collaborative that works to reduce gun violence in the United States by supporting evidence-based programs and policies at the local, state, and federal levels. It also provides a platform for funders interested in solving America’s gun violence crisis to convene, collaborate, and co-invest. With this award, FSF supports implementation of the national Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Action Plan.

Digital Action

A project of Global Impact, Digital Action’s mission is to strengthen democratic rights in the digital age. It runs campaigns and builds coalitions that increase the accountability of Big Tech and improve protections from online harms. Digital Action applies a human rights framework, prioritizing areas where online harms lead to real world violence, and where they have outsized impact on already historically marginalized groups. It makes powerful cross-sector connections between local activists and global policy debates. The organization has a unique model within the digital rights advocacy ecosystem as it works behind the scenes in service of the movement and does not seek credit publicly for its work. The award provides flexible support to Digital Action.

The Fund for a Safer Future (FSF), a project of Global Impact, is a funder collaborative that helps reduce gun violence in the United States by supporting evidence-based policies at the local, state, and federal levels. With this award, FSF supports portions of a conference presented by the U.S. Department of Justice. The 2024 Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative Grantee Conference takes place in Chicago and includes site visits to local violence prevention programs.

Philanthropy Together

Global Impact, founded in 1981 and based in Alexandria, VA, works on charitable ventures to inspire greater giving. Philanthropy Together, a project of Global Impact, launched in 2020 with the goal of democratizing and diversifying philanthropy through the power of collective giving. This year, it is expanding its focus to include broader themes of giving including an initiative on collaborative funds, also known as donor collaboratives. This grant provides flexible support to Philanthropy Together.
