Since its founding in 1974, the company has produced 288 plays, including 169 world premiere productions and more than 150 plays written by Chicago authors. In 2001, Victory Gardens received a Regional Theater Tony Award. It employs 300 artists and hosts audiences of 60,000 each year in its performances, community and educational programming.
