MacArthur awarded seven organizations $1,275,000 in general operating support in the second cohort of Culture, Equity, and the Arts grantees selected via a participatory grantmaking process. The program aims to shift power to community leaders as we work to support a more equitable arts sector in Chicago. Arts and cultural institutions and arts-centered organizations, in which the arts are integral to executing the mission but are not the entity’s primary stated activity, will receive support over three years.
